Go-and-Do: Photography Weekend in Little Rock

A traveling photography workshop is making a stop this weekend in Little Rock.

Luke Ballard, CEO and founder of Remember Forever Photography, is in the middle of a 10-month journey across the country, giving lectures, seminars and courses along the way to those interested in learning the ins and outs of photography. Ballard will be in Little Rock on Saturday and Sunday to offer various tutorials, including travel and night photography.

The classes are open to ages 10 and above, and will take place at Julius Breckling Riverfront Park at 202 La Harpe Blvd. Below is a list of classes that will be offered this weekend in Little Rock, along with the cost. Use discount code “weekend60” when signing up to save 60 percent!

Introduction to Photography/DSLR: 9 a.m. Saturday ($129)

This class is for beginners, and will teach you all the dials, buttons and other operations of your camera like shutter speed, aperture, white balance and ISO. What to Bring: DSLR camera Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sign up here.

Travel Photography 101: 2 p.m. Saturday ($129)

This workshop will teach you the ideal settings and priorities for travel photography. It’s sure to improve the photos you take on your next vacation or outdoor adventure. What to Bring: Camera (Note: A tripod is highly recommended for this class) Time: 2-6 p.m. Sign up here.

Night Photography: 7 p.m. Saturday ($95)

This three-hour class will teach you the ins and outs of taking amazing photos at night. You’ll learn the right settings for your camera that will help you capture the photo you’re looking for whether it’s a fireworks show, cityscapes or light patterns. Taking Photos of People and Your Family: 9 a.m. Sunday ($129)

If taking photos of family and friends is what you love, this is the class for you. Ballard will go over natural light and other aspects, like studio lighting and flash photography, that will help to improve your skills. What to Bring: Camera Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sign up here.

Advance Travel Photography: 2 p.m. Sunday ($129)

This class picks up where the 101 class left off, and delves deeper into the composition and technique needed to get more out of your photos. Travel Photography 101 is required before taking this course.
