Art Porter Music Education’s A Work of Art Jazz Week

A long lineup of award-winning artists will be in the capital city this week for the Art Porter Music Education’s Fourth annual A Work of Art Jazz Week.

APME provides scholarships to Arkansas music students to give them a chance to pursue a higher education. It also promotes community service and volunteerism.

A Work of Art is the organization’s primary fundraiser. It was first held in 2011 to celebrate what would have been Art Porter Jr.’s 50th birthday. Each year since, it’s drawn a large group of local artists, music students and national recording artists for a week-long celebration.

This year is no different with musical events scheduled Monday through Saturday. The week’s festivities include free events. Below is a schedule of the events and cost to attend.

APME also offers three levels of VIP tickets which are explained below, as well. For more on APME and A Work of Art, click here.
