The United States Marshals Museum, honoring our nation’s oldest federal law enforcement agency, will be a nationally-scoped museum on the banks of the Arkansas River in Fort Smith. The museum will celebrate the United States Marshals’ service by educating visitors on civic literacy and the rule of law through experience design, artifacts and programming. From policing Native American territory in the late 1800s to helping desegregate classrooms in the 1960s, the museum will tell the nearly 230-year deep, rich history of the men and women of the United States Marshals Service.
