Giving Guide: Potluck Food Rescue

MISSION:

Potluck Food Rescue is devoted to providing hunger relief while reducing food waste with a commitment to addressing the health, environmental and economic impacts that wasted food has on our community. Founded in 1991 after beginning food rescue efforts in 1989, Potluck has spent more than three decades recovering surplus food and redirecting it to people experiencing food insecurity. Today, Potluck is expanding its decentralized food rescue model across Arkansas, strengthening local partnerships, increasing access to nutritious food, reducing unnecessary waste and building sustainable community-based systems that move food from surplus to immediate need, based on proximity.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Rescue and deliver surplus food through an app-based volunteer network.
  • Support No Cost Markets, food sorting, and distributions.
