MISSION

Founded in 2012 by young professionals, the mission of Opera in the Rock (OITR) is to enrich Arkansas culture through opera by utilizing local and regional talent and by building future audiences for this art form through professional performances, a young artist review series and presentations for children.

The corporation fosters and promotes opera as both entertainment and education, while giving local performers the opportunity to use their talents to further their careers. OITR enriches the community by collaborating with a diverse range of artists while offering programming that includes both opera and musical performances of all genres that is not only traditional, but edgy, exotic and excellent.

Consider a season sponsorship! Sponsorships begin at $250 with perks that include tickets, access to cast parties or even private opera concerts in your home.

Audition! Opera in the Rock is always looking for new talent to showcase at our events and through DIA, our “Discovered in Arkansas” concert series.

Buy tickets! The 2018-19 season includes “Double Feature,” a night of one-act comic operas; our annual gala “Opera on the Rocks” and a full-scale production of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre.
