MISSION
The Historic Arkansas Museum Foundation supports the museum’s mission to communicate the early history of Arkansas and its creative legacy by preserving, interpreting and presenting stories and objects for the education and enjoyment of Arkansans and visitors. The HAM Foundation supports the museum’s programs and events, including its award-winning living history program and its monthly 2nd Friday Art Night.
Since 2016, the foundation has sponsored free field trips for Arkansas schoolchildren from across the state. It also raises money to purchase Arkansas Made fine and decorative art for the museum’s permanent collection, saving Arkansas’ cultural and creative legacy for future generations.
FUNDRAISERS AND EVENTS
Held under a tent on the museum’s grounds, the biennial Candlelight Gala is the museum’s biggest fundraiser. Other great events include the History is Served: Arkansas Foodways Dinner Series which draws from research and partners with local chefs to provide guests with an immersive dining experience with a historical theme. Museum members also enjoy our annual Appreciation Pie Party. And practically everyone loves the Nog-off, a friendly competition for the best eggnog in town, held the second Friday night in December.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
• Becoming a museum member is the best way to get involved and support the museum. Membership is available at several levels, from entry level to our highest Cornerstone level.
• Donations to the museum’s foundation support the museum. Donors can designate funds to the Living History Fund, the Bill Worthen Future of History Fund (which sponsors free field trips) or to go to where it is most needed.
• Leave a legacy. Planned giving is a great way to support your favorite organizations, including HAM, for years to come.
Thank You
to all our museum members, donors, supporters and volunteers, and the rest of our extended #HAMily! You are making history!
