Giving Guide: Champions For Health

MISSION

At Champions For Health, our mission is to educate, motivate and empower youth to create a health revolution on K-12 school campuses in Arkansas. We want to inspire future generations to create a legacy of health in our state.

Dr. Bruce Murphy, CEO of Arkansas Heart Hospital, founded our nonprofit with a vision to improve the health of Arkansans.

Childhood obesity is at epidemic levels with 40 percent of Arkansas children overweight or obese. Our children are in grave danger as obesity is directly linked to diabetes, heart disease, cancer and other diseases. We must ignite a desire among children to protect the most important element of their human capital: their health.

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Funding is needed to support resources we are bringing to the teachers and students at Morrilton Intermediate School who are participating in our pilot program. We are infusing health, fitness and nutrition education and strategies into the school environment during the 2018-19 school year

This pilot program is being developed in an effort to create a replicable model for all K-12 schools in Arkansas. Please visit our website to see a list of partner organizations engaged in this critical initiative for our state.
