Giving Guide: AR Kids Read

MISSION:

AR Kids Read nurtures a love for reading through relationships so that every child may one day read on grade level. Reading on grade level is a critical skill for every child. In the early years, children learn to read, but by third grade they must begin to read to learn. AR Kids Read recruits, trains and mobilizes tutors to help struggling students in grades 1-3, build literacy skills and practice reading. Together we can help students build confidence and close the reading gap!

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Underwrite a year of program services for a child including curriculum, books and tutor support with a Student Sponsorship of $35 per month.
  • Volunteer one hour per week to transform the lives of two local students.
  • Build a volunteer tutor team at your organization or business — chose a school or after-school site and enact change together.
