Get Your Tomato Fix at the Arkansas Tomato Festival

The tomato runs deep in Arkansas history — after all, the South Arkansas Vine Ripe Pink Tomato is the official state fruit and vegetable.

Whether you like them as a snack, prefer them in a salsa or want to slap one on a burger, this year’s Arkansas Tomato Festival at the Bernice Garden is your go-to tomato destination. Other than delicious, fresh tomatoes, the festival will include an Heirloom Tomato showcase, brews from Stone’s Throw Brewing and a cooking demonstration.

Raduno Brick Oven & Barroom is sponsoring music for the event and Isaac Alexander will be playing the tunes. Chef Nathan Miller will be doing two cooking demos with one at 11:30 a.m. and the other at 1:30 p.m.

The fest will coincide with the Bernice Garden Farmers Market regular schedule, which runs every Sunday until Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Along with sustainably raised fruits and vegetables, the market provides nuts, flowers, herbs, cheeses and ready-to-eat prepared food.
