Somebody hand us a mint julep.
The fifth annual Seersucker Social is just around the corner, and we’re busy readying ourselves for the most Southern event in town. Hosted by the 1836 Club, the event will take place 7-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, at the Old State House Museum.
Dripping with down-home style, the Seersucker Social celebrates all good things about the South with the good ol’ boys and gals who love it. The best part is that all proceeds will benefit the School Bus Fund, a local initiative that enables area schools to come visit the Old State House and learn about Arkansas history.

This is the signature event of the Old State House’s 1836 Club, so expect plenty of lawn games, hors d’oeuvres, mint juleps and live music by The Cons of Formant. Dress in your quintessentially Southern best (seersucker not required) and enjoy the summertime weather. There are even prizes for the best dressed guy and gal.
Tickets are $45 and are available here. Must be 21 or older. Sorry, kids.
For more information, visit the Old State House website or call (501) 324-8647. You can also check out the Facebook event page.
