Tickets for The Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s spring musical, “Mamma Mia!,” are now on sale. “Mamma Mia!” will be at The Rep from March 14 – April 8.
The beloved musical set to the songs of Swedish supergroup ABBA is a smash hit that has played to sold-out audiences around the world and even made into a movie with Meryl Streep. Audiences at The Rep will be able to sing along to hits like “Dancing Queen,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Lay All Your Love on Me,” and of course, “Mamma Mia!”
“I confess – I love ABBA’s music,” said Producing Artistic Director John Miller-Stephany. “And every once in a while it’s important to just let go and have fun.”
The story centers on a small Greek island, where Sophie dreams of a perfect wedding — one that includes her father giving her away. But Sophie doesn’t know who her father is. Her mother Donna refuses to talk about the past, so Sophie takes matters into her own hands. Sophie discovers three possible fathers after digging through her mother’s diary: Sam, Bill and Harry. She secretly invites all three to the wedding to find the real one. But when all three turn up, things get messy.
