The week has finally come, folks. ArkansasGives is here.
Confused? Let us help.
The Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance and the Arkansas Community Foundation have teamed up for a day devoted to online giving. You know, like the opposite of Cyber Monday.
Here’s how it works: You have a 12-hour window to donate online to a local ArkansasGives registered charity of your choice, during which donations will be matched from a $250,000 fund. Nonprofits even have an opportunity to win bonus cash prizes based on how much you give.
Awesome? Very.
“Nonprofit organizations across the state rely on the generosity of our communities,” said president and CEO of the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance Stephanie Meincke said in a press release. “This event is a great way for Arkansans to support local nonprofits while encouraging others to be a part of the nonprofit community.”
We were going to list the participating nonprofits but there are 359 of them (SHEESH), so you’re going to have to go check it out for yourself. Chances are, your favorites are on the list.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, now there are food trucks. Yep, join Southern Salt (benefitting Our House), Loblolly Creamery (for El Zócalo), Hot Rod Wieners (for Group Living, Inc.) and Katamandu MoMo (for AR Kids Read) at the AT&T building at 1111 W. Capital from 11 a.m. -1:30 p.m.
ArkansasGives is set for 8 a.m. -8 p.m. Thursday, April 2. If you’re afraid you’ll forget between now and then, you can sign up for a day-of reminder. Just text ARGIVES to 24587, or click here to sign up for an email reminder.
