Alcohol, social media, soda, sweets — people give up all kinds of vices during the season of Lent, but the Methodist Family Health Foundation is helping people give back as well.
Get Up & Give is a community-wide initiative encouraging groups and individuals to donate needed items to the Methodist Family Health facilities. Now in its 13th year, Get Up & Give promotes 40 days of generosity — March 2 through April 17 — for building up MFH’s hospital, group homes, emergency shelter and other services, all of which have taken a hit in the pandemic.
Here’s a portion of what’s on MFH’s wish list:
- paper towels
- shampoo and conditioner
- twin-sized bedding
- feminine hygiene products
- diapers
- crayons and coloring books
- toys
- backpacks
- gift cards to Walmart, Visa or Amazon
Click here for a more detailed list. You can schedule a time to drop off items at the MFH Counseling Clinics at 1600 Aldersgate Road, Suite 100B, or you can purchase online and have items shipped directly to their facilities.
If you’re more inclined, monetary donations are accepted online, through PayPal and Venmo, by calling 501.906.4210, texting “GUAG” to 501.881.2258 or mailing a check to the Methodist Family Health Foundation, P.O. Box 56050, Little Rock, AR 72215.
