Get Ready For the Inaugural SoMa Mardi Gras Masquerade

For years, locals have gathered in SoMa to laissez les bons temps rouler at the neighborhood’s annual Mardi Gras parade. This year, however, they’re cranking up the celebration a notch or deux.

Mark your calendars for the first ever SoMa Mardi Gras Masquerade on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Villa Marre. The 19th century venue located in the Quapaw Quarter will serve as the backdrop for a night of costumes, dancing and giant hair.

No, put down the Aqua Net. Think less Cyndi Lauper and more Marie Antoinette. Bust out the best ‘do and you could win a prize. Plus, at the end of the night, a Mardi Gras king and queen will be crowned, who will then receive a place of honor in the 2017 parade.

The masquerade takes place from 7-10 p.m. For tickets and more information, click here.
