Garvan Gardens Hosting Annual Spring Fundraiser ‘Denim & Diamonds’

See what happens when the famous faces of horse racing come together for a great cause — Denim & Diamonds at 6 p.m. tomorrow (April 2) on the Edmonson Great Lawn.

It’s to benefit Garvan Woodland Gardens, a place that preserves and enhances a unique part of the Ouachita environment while providing people with a place of learning, research, cultural enrichment and serenity.

The theme for the gardens’ annual spring fundraiser, sponsored by Oaklawn Racing and Gaming, is “Rider’s Up!”  Terry Wallace, former Oaklawn track announcer will be the emcee for the evening.

The fun-filled evening will consist of cocktails, a BBQ buffet, live auction, dancing, music and the chance to mingle with favorite legendary and contemporary jockeys.

Legendary riders attending with Day are Larry Snyder and David Whited, plus many others.

Tickets are $60 for members, $75 for non-members and $550 for a table of 10.
