Galentine’s Day 101: How to Celebrate Your Girl Gang in Style

Do we really need an excuse to hang with our best girlfriends while gorging on chocolate, libations and all things decadent? We think not.

Since “Parks and Rec’s” Leslie Knope created Galentine’s Day in 2010, Feb. 13 has become one of our favorite days of the year. It’s the perfect time to celebrate the love we have for our awesome gal pals. And, if we’re being perfectly honest, it’s nice to spoil ourselves a little, too.

To help us mark the occasion properly, one of our go-to entertaining experts Chris Norwood from Tipton & Hurst is sharing his three tips for how to throw an affordable Galentine’s Day party.

Disposable place settings: Forget the fine china. Make hosting a breeze with disposable place settings, such as Caspari’s paper tablecloths, runners, plates and floral napkins that you can purchase for $40 or less and toss once the celebrations are over.

Pro tip: Add extra dimension to your table by incorporating textured chargers.

A touch of chocolate (and champagne): No Galentine’s Day is complete without an after-dinner/lunch/brunch treat. Satisfy your friends’ sweet tooth and give them a keepsake from your event with Louis Cherry chocolates and mini bottles of champagne.

Take-home flower arrangements: Keep your guests entertained by letting them create their own flower arrangements, which can double as centerpieces for your tablescape. All you have to do is provide the vases and a selection of wholesale white hydrangeas, pink tulips, lamb’s ear and lily grass.

Pro tip: Check out Chris’s quick tutorial below, and then stop by Tipton & Hurst on Wednesday for BOGO wholesale flowers.
