It doesn’t get more American than this, folks. This Sunday, May 28, is National Hamburger Day (wrapping up National Burger Month, of course) and we are ready to celebrate. Join us in making good choices and indulging in the best burgers in Little Rock. Here are some of our favorites.
The Root Cafe
Each burger is ground fresh and comes from small-farmed and pasture-raised beef at Simon Farms in Conway, served on a fresh bun topped with in-season lettuce and tomato. This SoMa cafe can do no wrong.
Big Orange
There’s a good chance Big Orange is the first place that comes to mind when you think of local burgers, and for good reason. Their famed burger lineup includes specialties like the Delta Blue burger (our editor’s fave) topped with blue cheese, pepper jelly, butter leaf lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and garlic mayo.
Capital Bar & Grill
You don’t become a menu staple in the middle of downtown without earning your keep. CBG’s eight ounces of in-house ground beef topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and special sauce on a potato bun does exactly that. Throw in a side of the signature pimento cheese or parmesan fries and it’s all over.
Cotham’s in the City
When a burger has its own lore, you know you’re in for a treat. Head to the “home of the hubcap burger” to get your hands on the original burg that turned heads in Hollywood (we see you, Rachel Ray and “Man vs. Food”), and swap out the fries for onion rings if you really want to go all in.
David’s Burgers
These burgs are well-loved around these parts, and one stop by one of their 10 locations across central Arkansas will prove why. Plus, any place that drops off complimentary fries directly to your table is a winner in our book.
