Five Holiday Hostess Tips To Keep You Merry

The holiday season is here and we’re ready to party! Hosting family and friends is one of the best things about this time of year but the stress of putting everything together can quickly turn you into the Grinch. Here are five holiday hostess tips that will help keep you and your guests merry.

Have a signature drink.

A signature drink is not only festive but also practical. It can be tough to stock your bar with all of your guests’ favorites so stick with one signature drink and have a few staples on hand such as red and white wine options, a mixer and beer.

Set the mood.

Candles are a great way to add dimension to any celebration. Place votive candles in holiday holders or go for drama with oversized pillar candles in large glass holders and use as centerpieces. For added holiday spirit, place scented candles in bathrooms and hallways.

Fuss Free.

Hors d’oeuvres are an elegant, simple and festive way to entertain guests. These not-too-messy finger foods allow guests to mix and mingle without the focus and fuss of a sit down dinner.

Cozy spaces.

Create comfy spaces with plenty of seating options. (Rent extra chairs or ask friends and neighbors for additional seating options) These clusters of seating will help create conversations.

Stay relaxed and enjoy!

It’s easy to get caught up in hostess duties – making sure drinks are filled and guests are happy, but take time to enjoy and visit with them. If this is hard for you, hire help. Party planners like Ron Carter can be hired to help set up and serve while you spend quality time with friends and family.
