Get pumped, puppy people. It’s happening. Little Rock’s Bark Bar is on the road to reality.
With sights set on an old church building at 1201 Spring St. in SoMa, this upcoming venture is part-restaurant, part-bar and part-off-leash dog park — the first of its kind for Arkansas. Bark Bar plans to offer customers a full bar, a retail space and plenty of gourmet hot dogs (of course), along with a play area and locally sourced treats for the real dogs.
Behind Bark Bar are Cara Fowler and Elizabeth Michael, who came up with the idea simply out of necessity.
“We want this to be a place for the community to come and not feel that they’re being ostracized because they have a dog,” Michael told our sister publication, Arkansas Business.
