Faulkner Chamber Music Festival Comes to UA Little Rock

Lovers of classical music, rejoice! The Faulkner Chamber Music Festival is almost here.

This summer concert series from the Chamber Music Society of Little Rock will take over the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall at UA Little Rock Aug. 1-6. The 2017 Faulkner Chamber Music Festival features three concerts including performers running the gamut of students to Grammy-nominated pianists.

The faculty concerts feature Katherine Williamson, Yaira Matyakubova and Geoffrey Robson on violin, Ryan Mooney on viola and Caitlin Sullivan on cello, with a special guest performance from internationally-renowned pianist Andrius Zlabys.

Here’s a look at the series program.

 

FCMF Faculty Concert I

Aug. 1, 5:30 p.m.

String Quartet in Bb, Op. 18 No. 6 – Ludwig van Beethoven

String Quartet No. 2 “Moth” – Yevgeniy Sharlat

Harp and Altar for String Quartet and Electronics – Missy Mazzoli

 

FCMF Faculty Concert II

Aug. 4, 7:30 p.m.

Sonata in E minor, K. 304 for Violin and Piano – W. A. Mozart

Prelude, Chorale and Fugue in B minor for Piano – Cesar Franck

Piano Quintet in Eb major, Op. 44 – Robert Schumann

 

FCMF Student Recital

Aug. 6, 3 p.m.

 

Tickets to the the faculty concerts are $15 for adults and free for students, and the student recital is a free performance. Get your tickets online here or at the door.
