After law school, I clerked for Judge Mackie Pierce (Pulaski County) and expected to work as a civil trial lawyer on either the defense or plaintiff’s side. While clerking, I got to know the lawyers at Dodds, Kidd & Ryan and saw first-hand their reputation within the legal community. When I was offered a position with the firm, I realized the opportunity was too good to pass up. Working with Jud Kidd led into a domestic relations practice. Although I work in other areas of the law, domestic relations is my main focus.

Dodds, Kidd & Ryan was established over fifty years ago. The firm specializes in all areas of the law including domestic relations, civil litigation and criminal defense.

Average Case
There is really no way to determine, on the front end, how long or how expensive a divorce will be. There are numerous factors to consider. The average divorce case takes approximately 4-5 months and will cost anywhere between $1,200 and $7,500.

The Facts

Undergraduate School: Lyon College
Law School: UALR William H. Bowen School of Law

Practicing Since: 2003
Accolades // Associations:
• William Overton Inns of Court (Barrister)
• Arkansas and Pulaski County Bar Association
• Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association

My Advice
Remember to keep things in focus. The ultimate goal should be to get the divorce finished while maintaining a civil relationship between the parties. In Arkansas, everything should be split 50/50 and the lawyer’s job is to determine the contents, value of the marital estate and how to split that between the husband and wife.
