Explore Local Lore With This Quapaw Quarter Haunted History Tour

If you’ve ever looked at one of the towering estates in the Quapaw Quarter and wondered if it was haunted, this event likes where your head’s at.

The Quapaw Quarter Association will host “Specters, Spirits and Stories: A Haunted History Tour” on Friday Oct. 18, an evening of spooky fun and local history. Some of the neighborhood’s most iconic sites are on the list, including the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, Curran Hall and, of course, Mount Holly Cemetery.

The bus tour will be led by the QQA’s Shelle Stormoe, who has a special background in folklore and storytelling. But if you’re easily frightened, don’t worry. Stormoe describes the tour as “more folktale than horror movie.”

You have two chances to catch the tour: 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Guests will also enjoy plenty of snacks and drinks, including a signature cocktail, that come with the ticket price.

For more information and to secure your tickets, visit the QQA website, and follow along on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

Editor’s note: The house pictured above is not on the tour.
