If you were to name five classic movie theme songs off the top of your head, chances are that most (if not all) of them come from the genius of John Williams. He’s the father of the legendary soundtrack, and that’s why he’s the perfect focus for the finale of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Acxiom Pops Live! series.
“The Movie Music of John Williams” will hit Pulaski Academy’s Connor Performing Arts Center stage for two separate performances: 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 8.
Under the direction of conductor Philip Mann, the ASO will perform pieces from the zillion-time Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Golden Globe-winner that you know by heart, including works from “Star Wars,” “Jurassic Park,” “E.T.” and “Harry Potter.”
Tickets start at $19 with active duty military and student tickets at $10. All Arkansas students grades K-12 are admitted to Sunday’s matinee free of charge with the purchase of an adult ticket using the Entergy Kids’ Ticket.
