SPONSORED: Everything You Need to Know About AMFA’s Chroma Night Celebration

Presented by:

Since the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts first opened its doors on April 22, 2023, the museum has been alight with activity. Exciting exhibitions, thrilling performances, inspiring classes, engaging lectures and educational programs have brought a record number of guests to the museum from far and wide.

In honor of this extraordinary year, AMFA is planning a series of special celebrations, and we sat down with AMFA Director of Marketing Malina Tabor to get the inside scoop on Chroma Night, a cocktail party set for Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m.

Chroma Night is being described as a “fundraising bash in blue.” What does AMFA have in store?

MT: Chroma refers to the intensity of color, and we liked the idea of creating an atmosphere filled with different shades of blue. Chroma Night is going to be a highlight of our milestone year with art, music, dancing and great food as we celebrate the museum’s impact and the community’s amazing support.

When guests of Chroma Night walk in, what can they expect?

MT: The museum is going all out with blue-themed decor, featuring beautiful floral arrangements by Tipton & Hurst, sweeping banners in the atrium and other custom decor. Guests aren’t required to wear blue, but we definitely won’t stop anyone from being on theme. Plus, we have DJ Lucy Wrubel from Dallas to keep the party going all night long. After hearing part of her set, I know guests are in for a treat. Park Grill has also created a delicious menu made specially for the evening.

How about a sneak peek at some of the special menu offerings?

MT: I can’t reveal all the surprises — because there’s so much in store — but the last tasting left us all craving more. I must say, in my opinion, the lamb chop stole the spotlight.

We will also have “action stations” throughout the museum where chefs will be cooking food on the spot for guests. And, in a nod to a past favorite (the popular hotdog party before Tabriz) we’re serving gourmet hot dogs later in the evening for everyone to enjoy.

Sounds like Chroma Night is the perfect event for those who miss Tabriz. Anything else you can tell us about some of the special surprises in store?

MT: You’ll have to secure your ticket to find out!

We can’t wait. Of course, Chroma Night is more than just a fun evening. Could you share more about the significance of Chroma Night and AMFA’s milestone year?

MT: AMFA had an amazing first year. We welcomed guests from all over the world and have touched every corner of the state with our outreach programs. One of the reasons Forbes named AMFA “America’s most inviting art museum” is because we are a free museum, and the proceeds from Chroma Night will help ensure we remain free and accessible for all.

Where can our readers purchase tickets and find out more about Chroma Night and AMFA’s other anniversary events?

MT: Find tickets and additional information on our website at arkmfa.org or arkmfa.org/milestone-year. And don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and X for the latest updates and news.
