Esse to Host ’70s Blast From the Past Exhibit

SoMa’s Esse Purse Museum is bringing back the decade that brought us shag carpets, Easy Bake Ovens and Palazzo pants with “That ’70s Exhibit: 50 Years Later, A Supersonic Decade Still Resonates.”

The exhibit serves as a time capsule for the groovy days of old and will show off the styles that framed the decade. The exhibit will include recreations of the funky interior design of the time, fashions and accessories that were all the rage and, of course, some stylish purses.

The exhibit will also include the timeline of women’s history, highlighting the wins (and losses) in women’s rights, female firsts and greats in sports, fashion, music, pop-culture icons and more.

The exhibit is open starting Tuesday, Jan. 14, through Sunday, March 22. Call (501) 916-9022 for ticket information, questions about groups or directions. Esse is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
