Esse Purse Museum Gears Up for Cutting Edge Exhibit

Esse Purse Museum is prepping for a new modern exhibit, Cutting Edge. The exhibit will be available for three weeks beginning on Tuesday, May 1 through Sunday, May 20.

Cutting Edge features fun, chic paper dresses from the ’60s. These designs could be hemmed and altered with a pair of scissors or repaired with a piece of tape. Mixed-media artist Laura Fanning’s “Caution: Garment May Be Flammable” collection of paper clothing makes up the rest of the exhibit. If you fall in love with one of Fanning’s pieces, you’re in luck — some of her pieces are for sale during the exhibit’s three-week stint at Esse.

In addition to viewing the exhibit, there’s also an opportunity to make your own paper clothes or collages at Fanning’s workshop Saturday, May 19 from 1-3 p.m. For $30, you’ll be able to learn from Fanning while making your own paper masterpiece. Make your reservation today by calling (501) 916-9022.
