“Elf the Musical” at The Rep Until Jan. 4

Hey, cotton-headed ninny muggins-es.

If you haven’t had a chance to see “Elf the Musical” at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, you’ve still got a shot.

Following the same general storyline of the 2003 movie starring Will Ferrell (with some twists), the musical was adapted by Tony Award-winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, and has been a crowd favorite since its debut in 2010.

The play follows Buddy, a normal boy raised as an elf in the North Pole. When he learns of his true nature, he journeys to New York City to find his birth father and gets into all sorts of hilarious and sticky (and syrup-y) situations along the way.

This production has received rave reviews and the crew at The Rep has lined up all sorts of festive fun along the way. Click here to read our review and check out our Q&A with the cast here

Oh, and make sure you pick up some of Loblolly’s special Elf-inspired ice cream while you’re there. It’s to die for.

Directed by Nicole Capri, The Rep’s production runs through Jan. 4. Click here for a full list of showtimes and to purchase tickets. Be warned, though: It’s standing room only, which actually just means a stool in the back of the orchestra

You can probably hear us singing Christmas carols from here.
