‘Elf’ Opens This Weekend at The Rep

This is it, Christmas lovers! It’s happening!

We haven’t been able to contain our excitement since our Q&A with the cast, but now, with Thanksgiving behind us, the Arkansas Repertory Theatre is putting the finishing touches on their holiday production of “Elf,” which opens this Friday, Dec. 6.

Buddy, Santa, Jovie and gang will all hit the stage for the musical based on the 2003 movie starring Will Ferrell (with some twists). Adapted by Tony Award-winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, the production has been a crowd favorite since its debut in 2010.

The play follows Buddy, a normal boy raised as an elf in the North Pole. When he learns of his true nature, he journeys to New York City to find his birth father and gets into all sorts of hilarious and sticky (and syrup-y) situations along the way.

Directed by Nicole Capri, The Rep’s production will run from Dec. 5 – Jan. 4. Visit their website for a full list of showtimes and to purchase tickets. But hurry; many shows are sold out and most are on their way fast.

Don’t forget to grab some of Loblolly’s specialty ice cream flavor Rep-permint Chunk while you’re there!
