Drive-Thru Festivities Come to Creative Corridor With Holidays on Main

Bring on the jingle bells.

After serving up a month’s worth of Halloween fun via Shadows at Sixth, the Downtown Little Rock Partnership, Little Rock Zoo and Simmons Bank are once again teaming up for seasonal fun.

Holidays on Main is a free, drive-thru festive experience set along Main Street and in Union Plaza in downtown Little Rock kicking off Monday, Nov. 30, and running through early January. The COVID-safe wonderland includes holiday scenes and set design by the Arkansas Repertory Theatre and lights and special effects by CWP Productions.

And while the traditional tree-lighting block party is off for 2020, there will be a high-tech tree in its place that you can visit whenever you want, complete with a livestream lighting ceremony on Nov. 30.

“The goal is for people to come downtown, enjoy the outdoor holiday lights experience, pop in to a local restaurant or shop, enjoy dinner, maybe get some holiday shopping done and just to try to give people some sense of normalcy and joy during an anything-but-normal year,” says Gabe Holmstrom, the executive director of DLRP.

Guests are welcome to experience it all by car or on foot from 5-10 p.m. each night. Just make sure to wear your mask and keep a safe distance if you choose to walk.

There are more details to come, so keep an eye on DLRP’s Facebook and Instagram for updates.
