Dr. Nancy Hendricks to Present at Legacies & Lunch Wednesday

The monthly Legacies & Lunch history lecture from the Butler Center on Oct. 1 will feature a presentation by Dr. Nancy Hendricks on the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate, Arkansas’ own Hattie Caraway.

Hendricks has gained much success as a professional actress and award-winning author, with the Pryor Award for Arkansas Women’s History, the Arkansas Governor’s Arts Award and the White House Millennium Award all to her name. Hendricks also played the part of Caraway in the AETN film “Hattie Caraway: The Silent Woman.”

The event will take place in the Darragh Center at the Main Library at noon. Sponsored by the Arkansas Humanities Council, it is free to the public with drinks and dessert provided, so pack a lunch. After Hendricks’ lecture, she will sign copies of her book, “Senator Hattie Caraway: An Arkansas Legacy,” which will also be available for purchase.
