How long have you been cooking?

I have been cooking since I was a child. It has always intrigued my curiosity. But professionally, I have been cooking since I was 17.

What is your favorite thing to cook and why?

I don’t have a favorite thing to cook, per se. I just really enjoy the art behind cooking just about anything out there.

What are you planning to cook at Diamond Chef?

I haven’t really thought about what I’m going to cook for the competition. That’s one of those things I will figure out as soon as I know the mystery ingredients.

How do you think being a Southerner influences your cuisine?

My Texas heritage hasn’t really played a part in my food, but just being raised in the South has definitely played a part in my flavor profile.

What made you want to become a chef?

The career of being a chef just kind of fell in my lap. It was one of those things that seemed like it would be fun, so I decided to go to culinary school. I loved it so much I never looked back.
