“We’re finally old enough to drink!”
Diamond Bear Brewing Company is celebrating 21 years in business with a birthday bash this Friday, Oct. 8.
The North Little Rock brewery is throwing a Cheers & Beers to 21 Years celebration 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a brewery open house, brewers on-hand to answer questions, new beers on tap, special menu items, games, live music by Missy Harris and the MissFits and commemorative merch. Some of the specials will include $.21 root beer floats, 21% off retail items and $2.10 pints.
Arkansas’ largest commercial brewery was founded in 2000 by Russ and Sue Melton with the mission to “provide the people of Arkansas and the surrounding region with their own local brewery, which produces great premium all natural beer products, which reflect favorably on Arkansas and the surrounding region.”
Diamond Bear is named after Arkansas’ nicknames as the Diamond State and the Bear State.
The beer is produced using water from Lake Winnetoka outside of Hot Springs and is brewed and bottled in North Little Rock without adjuncts, chemicals or additives. Diamond Bear produces lagers, IPAs, porter, root beer and recently started producing hard seltzers.
