Designer House XXV Opens for Garden Tours This Weekend

Update: Due to inclement weather, garden tours have been rescheduled to May 22-24. All previously purchased tickets will be honored.

Some of the first events on the calendar to get rearranged thanks to COVID-19 were the festivities surrounding the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Designer House XXV. And although they’re not quite ready to throw open the doors and welcome the crowds to Belle Maison with open arms just yet, this is the next best thing.

This weekend, May 15-17, the ASO will open the gardens of Belle Maison’s 40-acre estate for self-guided tours. The meticulously landscaped grounds are stunning in springtime, and the symphony knew it had to find a way to showcase them.

Along with general garden tours, you can also choose to take part in wine-filled walks, or even a private tour led by chief gardener Joel Villa and Designer House Chair Larry West Jr.

Guests will be required to follow safety measures, including practicing proper social distancing, and staff will help monitor the volume of visitors.

Designer House XXV is the ASO Guild’s biennial event bringing together more than 30 interior designers from across the state to transform an estate, room by room. This year’s house, Belle Maison, includes two homes, a lake, gardens and scenic vistas located at 21509 Denny Road.

Belle Maison will be open for garden tours 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.Friday and Saturday and noon – 4 p.m. Sunday. Plus, a garden tour ticket will get you into the Designer House once tours are available.

If you can’t wait, a commemorative book documenting 25 years of Designer House in Arkansas is available for purchase now.
