If you’re looking for Georgia O’Keefe’s Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 painting, you’re going to have to travel a bit further than northwest Arkansas for a few months.
The 1932 oil on canvas, owned by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, is taking a trip to London for an exhibit that runs through October. The borrower? The Tate Modern, for what’s being called the biggest O’Keefe exhibit ever in Britain.
The London show will feature more than 100 works by the famous painter.
“We are delighted to be showing this iconic work by O’Keeffe for the first time in the UK for over 20 years,” the BBC quoted Achim Borchardt-Hume, the Tate’s director of exhibitions.
Crystal Bridges purchased the painting in 2014 for $44.4 million.
