Have you had a chance to see Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s last production of the season, “The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged)”?
Don’t miss out on this entertaining spoof of the playwright’s most notable works! It’s ending June 29.
Directed by Resident Director Nicole Capri, the production is a parody of the plays of Shakespeare, with all of them being performed in shortened and side- splitting, form.
Written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield (former founding members of the Reduced Shakespeare Company) and first performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1987, “The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged)” later played at the Criterion Theatre in London, where it ran for nine years.
It has become one of the world’s most popular shows, playing in a variety of languages, and is most notable for holding the (self-proclaimed) world record for the shortest-ever performance of “Hamlet,” clocking in at just 43 seconds.
In the last week’s showings, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evening performances are at 7 p.m., while Friday and Saturday evening performances are at 8 p.m. The Sunday Matinee performance is at 2 p.m.
