For 20 years, the Clinton Presidential Center has been a cornerstone of educational and cultural programming for central Arkansas and beyond. To celebrate, the Clintons are hosting a weekend of special events early next month.
President Bill Clinton will kick off the weekend on Dec. 6 with a virtual conversation titled “Beyond the Oval Office: Bill Clinton Reflects on a Changing America.” The discussion will chronicle his post-presidential years and some of the century’s most significant events. Emmy-nominated actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson will moderate the conversation, and each ticket will include a copy of his new book “Citizen: My Life After the White House.” This event is already at capacity, but you can still join the waitlist here.
Update: This event has been moved to the Statehouse Convention Center and tickets are now available. Details here.
On Saturday, Dec. 7, a special edition of the Kumpuris Distinguished Lecture series will celebrate the Clinton Center’s history through the work of the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton School. Held at the Robinson Center, the lecture will feature a conversation with President Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Dr. Chelsea Clinton on the important work of public service. The lecture is free to attend, but reservations are required.
The goal of this milestone event is to be not just retrospective, but a conversation about the future as the Clintons discuss the crucial role of collaboration and shared responsibility. This event offers a chance to connect with the Clinton Center’s two decades of legacy and hear firsthand about the next chapter of their work in Arkansas.
“If people are given concrete problems with the expectation of working together, and with the baseline that everyone respects one another, that people’s equal humanity and right to be there is not up for debate,” Dr. Chelsea Clinton told Soirée in our October issue.
