City Year Announces Inaugural Red Jacket Classic

This November, City Year Little Rock is inviting the community to swing into action at the inaugural Red Jacket Classic, a unique Top Golf event that combines fun with philanthropy. On Nov. 18 from 5-8 p.m., supporters of all ages can come together at Little Rock’s new Top Golf location to make a difference in the lives of students across central Arkansas.

City Year has been a mainstay in local schools for 20 years, and the Red Jacket Classic is a celebration of this journey.

“City Year is an equity-focused nonprofit, committed to ensuring every student we serve has the opportunities and the support to succeed in school and life,” says Jennifer Cobb, CYLR’s senior vice president and executive director. “Our dedication to building a sense of belonging within our partner schools and across the community is reflected in our 20th anniversary events like the Red Jacket Classic, where supporters of all skill levels are invited to join us in swinging for a cause.”

This isn’t your traditional golf tournament. The Red Jacket Classic offers a relaxed, social atmosphere where players can enjoy three hours of unlimited play on the range, delicious food and refreshing nonalcoholic beverages. Team sponsorships include a dedicated golf bay for six players, and attendees will also enjoy a swag bag filled with goodies, a silent auction and a chance to win exciting prizes.

By participating in the Red Jacket Classic, you can support City Year’s work of deploying AmeriCorps members as “student success coaches” in K-8 classrooms to help improve attendance, behavior and academic performance. Over the past two decades, nearly 900 AmeriCorps members have dedicated more than 900,000 hours to serving students in the community.

Whether you’re an avid golfer or just looking for a fun evening out, the Red Jacket Classic promises to be a memorable experience that brings the community together for a powerful cause.
