Just the other day, a man called to see if he could get a back issue of Soirée. He was pretty sure about the month and year. I asked him who he was looking for and immediately I knew he was mistaken. Canât remember what I did yesterday, but I can almost remember who was on every cover of Soirée over the past seven years. Itâs not that hard. I look at people for a living. Everyone who works on this magazine knows that people matter most to us.
From January through December of this past year, 4,418 individuals found themselves in the pages of Soirée at one or more of 198 parties and events! Why? Itâs because they are people who support nonprofit organizations they love.
Coincidentally, we just received the results of the 2009 Circulation Verification Council audit. In addition to verifying our circulation of 64,158 print readers, plus 1,588 unique digital readers, the CVC also provides us with valuable primary audience research. Itâs primary research because they specifically interview Soirée readers.
Here are a few things you might like to know from the CVC research about our people:
⢠Approximately 80% of our readers keep the magazine for one or more months.
⢠78% of our readers say they frequently purchase products or services from ads seen in Soirée.
⢠80% of Soiréeâs readers are 25-54 years old.
⢠59% of our readers are college educated, compared with 29% of the market being college educated.
⢠44% of our readers have household incomes of more than $100,000; two-thirds of our readers have household incomes of more than $75,000.
These numbers donât surprise us. The data matches our readers, the people we see at nonprofit events, the people we choose for our covers and features. People like you! Itâs a wonderful thing when research and reality are on the same page â” even better when itâs a page in Soirée.
Thanks for reading,
