There are so many fun events this week and what’s great is they’re all for a great cause.

Thursday (April 18)
Seersucker Social, Old State House Museum, 300 W. Markham St.: The Seersucker Social lawn party — with appetizers, libations, Southern tunes and croquet — gives people the chance to don their best seersucker duds. The best dressed lady and gentleman will receive cool prizes. Tickets are $50 per person in advance (purchase at the museum or by clicking here). Proceeds benefit the Old State House Museum. Ages 21 and up only.
Arkansas a la Carte, Arkansas Children’s Hall, 6 Children’s Way: The event from 6:30 – 9 p.m. will feature tastings from more than 25 Arkansas restaurants and caterers. Guests will also enjoy a silent auction and live entertainment from Josh Green. Proceeds benefit Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Tickets are $100 per person. Symphony Designer House XXII, 9 Bella Rose Court (private residence): Hosted by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Guild, the Symphony Designer House events showcase luxurious homes to raise money for music education programs in schools throughout the state. More than 20 leading interior and landscape designers will join talents to create a showcase home. The home will be open to the public beginning April 19 and ending on Mother’s Day, May 12. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $20 single-day, or $35 run-of-show. The showcase will also feature a variety of events, starting with Crescendo: Lifting the Veil tomorrow (April 18). Prices vary for each event.
Friday (April 19)
4th Annual Rockin in the Rock, Penick Club, 1201 Leisure Pl.: The annual event benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arkansas from 6:30 – 11 p.m. will feature live music by the award-winning music group Almost Famous, as well as hors d’ouvres, beer and wine, a live and silent auction and cork pull. Saturday (April 20)
Painting with a Purpose, Painting with a Twist, 4178 E. McCain Blvd., North Little Rock: The studio is hosting Painting with a Purpose from 2 – 4 p.m., which will kick-off Habitat for Humanity’s Art Auction Season. Proceeds will go to end poverty housing in Saline County. Admission is $35. Sign up here.
