CFYF Hosts Foster Care Awareness Month Event

The Centers for Youth and Families (CFYF) is hosting a special movie event in honor of Foster Care Awareness month next week.

The film, “ReMoved,” will be screened next Thursday (May 28) at the Chenal 9 theatre located at The Promenade at Chenal beginning at 6:30 p.m.

This 30 minute, two-part indepedent film follows a 10-year-old girl as she navigates her way through the foster care system, after being removed from her home and separated from her younger brother.

Part one of the film has had over 1.8 million hits on youtube.com. Part two was funded by a kickstarter campaign.

“This will be an evening for those with the time, heart, and interest in learning more about Foster Care and to connect with agencies dedicated to building healthier and happier families,” said JoBeth McElhanon, director of prevention services, marketing and communications for CFYF.

The event is free with limited seating.  Tickets can be reserved in advance here or by visiting the CFYF website.
