The American Heart Association of Arkansas celebrated 100 years at its signature black-tie ball at the Statehouse Convention Center. The annual event recognizes the association’s year-round efforts to promote health equity in central Arkansas, raises funds to fight heart disease and marks the culmination of its Sweetheart program. Tammie and Mark Davis co-chaired the event, which celebrated the lives saved through AHA with auctions, dinner and dancing. UAMS Chancellor Dr. Cam Patterson received the Worthen-Cornett Award, and Leslie Bennett was the featured Open Your Heart survivor.
