Experience the rich histories and cultures of the American Latino community during a month of festivals for National Hispanic Heritage Month. HHM takes place Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 of every year to recognize, honor and celebrate the many contributions and achievements of Hispanic and Latino communities.
The Little Rock metro will mark Hispanic Heritage Month with three different festivals in the SoMa neighborhood, Argenta Plaza and Plaza Frida. All free and open to the public, these family-friendly festivals will have plenty of fun, delicious food, great entertainment and much more for the whole community to enjoy together.
Here are the event highlights you should know:
Fiesta en SoMa
The inaugural Fiesta en SoMa will take place on Friday, Oct. 6, in Little Rock’s SoMa neighborhood. Explore and celebrate the distinct heritage of various Latino countries by delving into traditions, customs and flavors of nations like Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and more. There will be dancing, live music, art displays, food vendors and activities for kids from 4-9 p.m. Learn more here.
Third Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival at Plaza Frida
Celebrate the independence of Latin American countries at the third annual Hispanic Heritage Festival at Plaza Frida. Located in southwest Little Rock, Plaza Frida will bring local food, vendors, artists and performers together for a celebration to remember on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 5-9 p.m. Learn more here.
Hispanic Heritage Festival with Seis Puentes
North Little Rock Tourism and Seis Puentes are teaming up to once again bring the Hispanic Heritage Festival celebration to Argenta Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event celebrates North Little Rock’s Hispanic community, artists, music and culinary scene. Learn more here.
