Shine bright like a diamond, Historic Arkansas Museum!
Located in the heart of downtown Little Rock, HAM is celebrating 75 years — its diamond anniversary — with a day full of activities for visitors. on Tuesday, July 19, the very day the museum became the state’s first accredited history museum in 1941.
HAM kicks off the day at 10 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. with free admission all day, live music from Lark in the Morning, arts and crafts, living history reenactments, games and food. Visitors also have access to the following collections that are currently on exhibit:

“Since 1941, Historic Arkansas Museum has led the way in preserving, collecting and exhibiting our history, arts and culture to visitors not only from Arkansas but around the nation and world,” said Stacy Hurst, director of the Department of Arkansas Heritage.
There will also be a special reception from 5-6:30 p.m. with birthday cake, smoked nuts and cheese made in the museum’s smokehouse, herbed punch and an anniversary beer developed by Stone’s Throw Brewing called George Bros. Historic Arkansas Ale. The brew is a tribute beer similar to that of Little Rock’s first brewers and is made with wild Arkansas yeast and plums from Dunbar Community Garden.
