Calling all art aficionados: The Latino Art Project is partnering with Argenta Gallery and Rock City Werks to present Collaboration of Color, an art exhibit. The exhibit will celebrate artists from a wide variety of backgrounds (nationalities, races, ethnicities, and genders), showcasing colorful abstract art.
“I’m excited to be part of this exhibition and participate in the continued development of a solid community of artists in central Arkansas,” participating artist Virmarie DePoyster says. “I love that The Latino Art Project actively brings people from all backgrounds together and fosters a positive partnership among artists.”
Two of DePoyster’s pieces are encaustics made of wax and oil paint, which allow the viewer to see between layers.
“They remind me of the blending and development happening in Little Rock’s artist community.”
More participating artists include:
- Luis Saldaña
- Jeannie Stone
- Vickie Hendrix Siebenmorgen
- Buddy Whitlock
- Jatso
- Rick VanHook
- Rolando Quintero
- Gerald Brown
An opening reception will be held at Argenta Gallery on Wednesday, July 13, from 6-9 p.m. “Collaboration of Color” will be on display at the gallery (located at 413 Main Street in North Little Rock) from July 13-Aug. 29. Visit the Facebook event page for details.
