Carter | Miller Hillcrest Launches Happy Hair Subscription Box

Carter | Miller Hillcrest is launching Happy Hair Boxes, a subscription box full of sustainable hair care products that can be shipped directly to your front door.

Kim Carter and Alicia Miller, best friends and owners of the salon, had to turn to selling their products to pay the rent when the city mandated businesses to shutdown last spring because of COVID-19. Since then, they have been delivering products to people’s doorsteps, meeting them at the salon and shipping it to them.

During that time, they fell in love with subscription boxes and came up with the idea to create their own a few weeks ago.

Subscribers can pay for one of five basic boxes: The Nourishing Box is for processed hair on the dry side. The Color Illuminating Box is for color-treated hair. The Curly Hair Box is for curly hair. The Absolute Beautifying Box is for making your hair shiny and voluminous. The Weekend Box is a self-care kit of Solu that includes a clarifying shampoo and a scrub.

The boxes come in two options: an every six-week subscription that includes an 8-9 ounce shampoo and conditioner or a three-month subscription that includes the same products by the liter. Each box will also include a travel-size product designated for the box hair-type.

All of the products in the boxes are made by Davines, a sustainable haircare line that Carter and Miller use exclusively in their salon.

“We truly live by these products and we hope it will spread the love of sustainable beauty and having the convenience of using really great products on your hair at home.”
