SPONSORED: CareLink Helping People 60+ Knock Out COVID-19 With Vaccine Assistance

Presented by:

For more than two years, the world has seen how the coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone, from the healthiest of people to more vulnerable members of the community like seniors. To meet this need, CareLink, the central Arkansas area agency on aging, is providing vaccine assistance at no cost to people ages 60 years and older.

As an organization committed to serving central Arkansas’ older loved ones since 1979, it was an easy decision for the North Little Rock-based nonprofit to expand services like information and assistance and transportation to not only help with scheduling COVID-19 vaccine and booster appointments, but to also provide the transportation needed to get them.

“Even though the COVID-19 vaccine has been available for more than a year, we are still seeing many people struggling to get theirs for a host of reasons like identifying pharmacies and figuring out how to use the online scheduling portals,” says Care Coordination Manager Elise Hensley, NPH.

“But their struggle doesn’t end there as many are then faced with securing a reliable ride to their appointment. So, our information and assistance specialists and transportation department have been working together diligently to ensure our aging community is getting the help they need to receive their COVID-19 immunizations.”
