American Heart Month may have come and gone with February, but the heart-pumping action is just getting started with the Cardiac Classic set for Saturday, April 16.
Now in its 10th year, the classic is one of the area’s top cycling events, drawing riders of all skill levels from near and far to explore various elevations and curves. The out-and-back course offers four route lengths — 20, 35 and 50 miles and 100 kilometers — starting at Heifer International and winding south to Wrightsville.
The race is hosted by the Arkansas Heart Hospital, whose award-winning chefs will provide a heart-healthy meal for participants at the finish line.
“As an avid cyclist, I look forward to this event every year as it highlights an activity that people can do to better their cardiac health and overall wellness,” says hospital CEO Dr. Bruce Murphy. “I’m proud of what we’ve created over the last 10 years with this event, and I look forward to seeing how we will continue to progress and shape the health of Arkansans for years to come.”
On race day, check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. To learn more and register, visit the Arkansas Heart Hospital website.
