Say it ain’t so, Cajun’s Wharf.
The Little Rock landmark, home of the Play De Do and delicious oysters Bienville, will call it quits on Saturday, June 1. But until then, the nearly 40-year-old restaurant and entertainment venue will continue its regular operations, including a full music line-up and “Big Swinging Deck Parties” offering up those beautiful views of the Arkansas River we’ve come to love.
“We often hear from customers who have experienced some of the most significant events of their lives here — from college graduations to first dates to wedding receptions,” said Cajun’s owner Mary Beth Ringgold. “Over the next two months, we hope our loyal customers and friends will come to soak up the best of Cajun’s and relive that nostalgia with us.”
Cajun’s is making it way too easy to want to celebrate its legacy with an assortment of specials starting now until they close this summer. Cajun’s will offer daily restaurant specials, fresh crawfish and a $5 “Thursday Throwback” bar menu with signature drinks, wine and beer until they close. Cajun’s will have live music during happy hour and in the evenings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
The only silver lining we can think of is that Ringgold’s other businesses, Capers Restaurant and Market at Capers on Highway 10 in west Little Rock and Copper Grill in downtown Little Rock, will remain unaffected by Cajun’s closing.
Spend an evening on Cajun’s back deck before it closes for good Monday-Saturday from 4:30 p.m. until close. The restaurant will be open for lunch Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and dinner Monday-Thursday from 5-10 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 5-11 p.m.
