Thea Foundation is starting 2023 strong with the return of its Art Department series on Thursday, Feb. 2, featuring Bryant Phelan of OFaolain Leather.
“Artcessories” is a continuation of the Arkansas native’s exhibit first displayed at Thea in 2019 and will showcase Phelan’s fine leather accessories as “wearable art and conduits of personality.” The show will also see Phelan revisiting and reimagining some of his favorite designs over his career.
Over the past decade, OFaolain has caught the attention of national and international media and designers with its handcrafted, one-of-a-kind leather goods. Pieces often feature mixed media elements such as crystal and metal detailing alongside sustainably sourced leathers from French and Italian tanneries.
The opening reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes hors d’oeuvres, drinks and music. “Artcessories” runs through Feb. 28.
