Blue Canoe Brewing Co. to Open Warehouse Taproom and Beer Garden

Beer garden, anyone?

Blue Canoe Brewing Co., the nanobrewery and taproom located at 419 E. Third in downtown Little Rock, is picking up some extra square footage with the opening of its brand new warehouse space and beer garden.

Bumping up BCBC’s status to a mircobrewery, the new brewing location at 1637 E. 15th will serve as an addition to the Third St. taproom, both of which will serve the BCBC’s new and expanded beer list.

But the warehouse isn’t just for brewing. Visitors can sip a beer right next to where it was made, and even get in a game or two of pool, shuffleboard, foosball or darts. Outside, the 0.4-acre garden includes lawn games, a fire pit, a lounge and a second bar built inside a recycled shipping container, with plans of planting an actual garden in the spring.

“This warehouse project has been one of the hardest yet most rewarding things we have ever done,” BCBC’s Macie Fellows said. “We designed our warehouse to be a great place for everyone to enjoy craft beer and have fun.”

The BCBC warehouse will also offer brewery tours on Saturdays (complete with two half pints), as well as space rental options for events.

BCBC opened in 2014 and its journey so far includes taking over its neighboring space on Third St., a short-lived Mexican restaurant and Old Blue, its beloved 1961 International Harvester Travelall that was upgraded into a mobile taproom.

“So much has evolved over the years with us, and our mission is to keep growing,” Fellows said. “Blue Canoe Brew Co. started out as a dream, and three years later we are seeing exactly how big that dream can grow.”

A grand opening party for the warehouse is set for Saturday, Oct. 21, and will include live music, raffles and a special small batch release.
